I was so proud of MSNBC for the last couple of days, they actually covered other events besides the traffic jam in Fort Lee. Keep in mind that there has been zero evidence Chris Christie knew about this, zero, even though the participant list, or suspected participant list, has grown from 2 to over 5 people talking about it. However, none of these emails or messages went to Christie, most are between Wildstein and Bridgette Kelly. I am sorry, but thinking Christie should have known or he ‘must have’ known doesn’t cut it and is not evidence. So far, it is just Al Sharpton, who should never be called a reverend anymore, starting up on bridgegate.
Al Sharpton opened up the show saying the recorded evidence, which makes one think Christie is on tape saying something good, right, wrong, it is 911 tapes. The tapes are said to be life threatening, they weren’t, and to-date no one has died because of this thing. The most humorous one was a laid calling back saying; “I called you and no one is here yet” with the 911 operator saying “you just called a couple minutes ago” and not blaming traffic at all. I don’t care where you are even in a hospital it can take longer than 2 minutes to get help.
Al Sharpton is still a joke.
It gets better, there was another call about a tow truck not getting somewhere fast enough, not unusual. Another was a responder telling the dispatcher that Fort Lee is in grid lock. The most serious call was from a home health aide worker who just found a person unconscious, but breathing, and the dispatcher getting help to them… no evidence the person was delayed in receiving medical attention. Someone fainted, but regained consciousness when the call came in, and it was a precautionary call only and zero evidence any response time was longer than normal.

The Ultimate Revenge by Sally Fernandez to Release February 25
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
THE ULTIMATE REVENGE is the explosive conclusion to “The Simon Trilogy” that has held political thriller readers tightly in its grasp. The author’s earlier books, BROTHERHOOD BEYOND THE YARD and NOBLE’S QUEST, provide an exhilarating platform for the launch of this final chapter of a gripping narrative that challenges the reader to put the book down.
The ever-elusive Simon’s daring escape from a high security prison adds unheard of dimensions to the classic cat and mouse game, while suggestive connections reveal that the nation’s power grids are at risk. Of greater significance, are the hidden agendas of some of the world’s most powerful leaders to pursue their goals toward a supra-national one-world government. The future of the United States is precipitously at stake.
Fernandez has proved again that she has mastered the art of blending fact with fiction, leaving the readers to make their own judgments. Whatever the outcome, it raises the inviting question, “What if?”
Sally Fernandez has woven together a story based on knowledge garnered from careers in banking, computer technology and consulting, while living in New York City, San Francisco and Hong Kong. Being a world traveler and a political junkie with a vivid imagination enriches the mix. As a world traveler, the author and her husband split time between their homes in the United States and Italy.
THE ULTIMATE REVENGE will be released February 25, 2014 in trade paperback (ISBN 978-1-939447-83-8) and in e-book (ISBN: 978-1-939447-84-5).

Endometriosis Foundation of America Hosts the 5th Annual Scientific Medical Conference on March 7 To Kick-Off Endometriosis Awareness Month
New York, New York (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
The Endometriosis Foundation of America (EFA), founded by Tamer Seckin, MD, and Padma Lakshmi, continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting better health and quality of life for women with endometriosis by hosting its 5th Annual Medical Conference addressing Politics, Ethics and Controversies in Endometriosis and Women’s Health – a two-day meeting open to both medical professionals and women with endometriosis.
EFA, the Nation’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the recognition of endometriosis, will host the New York City conference at the Metropolitan Club where world renowned experts, master surgeons, and scientists will present the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
“The conference highlights the politics of women’s health rights, and treatment of women from medical, legal, and ethical perspectives,” said Dr. Tamer Seckin, scientific chair of the conference and co-founder of the EFA with Padma Lakshmi. “My vision has always been to start a dialogue about the state of American women’s health, particularly, for women with endometriosis. This is a misunderstood, often times misdiagnosed, disease, which, in this country, is not talked about enough. There is a lot of bias, prejudice, and discrimination against women with endometriosis in school and in the workplace and from the healthcare system in general. EFA’s mission is to change this!”
Dr. Seckin has established the Harry Reich Award in honor of Dr. Reich’s pioneering work in laparoscopic surgery and his lifetime commitment to perfecting minimally invasive procedures in women’s healthcare. Professor Liselotte Mettler from the University of Kiel and Professor Linda C. Giudice from the University of California, San Francisco, will be the first two recipients of this award. “These two extraordinary women – a surgeon and a scientist whose own seminal work and careers mirror the contributions of Dr. Reich – have improved the lives of thousands of women around the world,” said Dr. Seckin.
A groundbreaking provocative discussion on the politics of endometriosis will feature three political advocates: Byllye Avery, founder of the Black Women’s Health Imperative and the Avery Institute for Social Change; Lone Hummelshøj, Secretary General of the World Endometriosis Society (WES); and Judith Waxman, Vice President of Health and Reproductive Rights at the National Women’s Law Center.
Other topics will include the controversies in cancer and endometriosis, ethical fertility treatment, managing chronic pain, immunity, stem cells, and the role of robotic surgery. Prominent speakers include Frank Chervenak, MD, world-renowned OBGYN ethicist and the chair of the OBGYN department at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and Robert Kurman, MD, Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Oncology and Pathology and Director of Gynecologic Pathology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
“EFA is proud to host this annual conference and to be affiliated with such talented doctors and experts in the medical field. So many women aren’t getting treatment because they aren’t properly diagnosed. Education and awareness is the key to a better understanding of endometriosis. Asking questions when visiting your doctors is the beginning,” says EFA co-founder and endometriosis sufferer, Padma Lakshmi, author and host of Top Chef.
Faculty for the conference are affiliated with North Shore LIJ Health System/Feinstein Institute for Medical Research; North Shore LIJ Health System/Lenox Hill Hospital; Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Boston Hospital & Medical Center; Memorial Sloan Kettering; John Hopkins University; NYU Langone Medical Center; New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Medical College of Cornell University; University of British Columbia; Michigan State University; University Hospitals Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany; University of California, San Francisco; and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
For more information or to register for the conference visit http://www.endofound.org, call 516-361-2181, or email mdconference2014@endofound.org.
The Endometriosis Foundation of America (EFA) was founded by Tamer Seckin, MD and Padma Lakshmi in 2009 to fight the devastating effects of endometriosis. In the last five years, EFA has increased awareness about the disease among healthcare providers and the general public; conducted advocacy activities to encourage support for education; and launched the nation’s first endometriosis tissue bank to facilitate research. EFA places a particular emphasis on the critical importance of early diagnosis and effective intervention. EFA’s annual scientific conference advances the dialogue about and the treatment of endometriosis by uniting the most innovative thinkers and practitioners across disciplines.

Tamils for Obama to Kerry: Include Referendum for Independence and Protection for SL Tamils in UNHRC Resolution
New York, New York (PRWEB) February 27, 2014
“We sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry concerning the UNHRC resolution the US is expected to introduce in March 2014. We said that the resolution must include two important points,” said the press spokesman for Tamils for Obama.”The first was that there has to be a referendum in northeastern Sri Lanka, similar to the one that took place in South Sudan. The referendum must be about what kind of government the Tamils in the northeast want for themselves.
“The second point is that the GOSL almost always comes down hard on anyone who makes them angry, which usually means the SL Tamils. Something must be done to protect the Tamils from GOSL retribution.”
The letter began by thanking the US for its past support at United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions. “We at Tamils for Obama would like to thank the US State Department for raising and passing two resolutions at the UNHRC in support of justice and historical truth in Sri Lanka,” the letter said, and then introduced ” an expected resolution calling for an international investigation into Sri Lanka’s deeds in the 2009 ethnic civil war.”
The Tamils for Obama letter went on “We urge the US to call for a referendum in the northeast of Sri Lanka similar to the one conducted in South Sudan. We concur with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa that the Sri Lankan Tamils who were driven out of the country by GOSL oppression should be permitted to vote in this referendum.
“The referendum,” the letter said, “must be part of this UNHRC resolution, and must include choice of government. This is every people’s democratic right: to choose their government and the kind of country in which they will live. This is a US principle, going all the way back to the Declaration of Independence, and we want it for the Tamils.”
“This is an important point,” the spokesman said. “We Tamil Americans all believe it strongly, and we think Secretary Kerry must believe it too.”
The letter concluded “The GOSL reacts with cruelty and violence whenever they are opposed, and their cruelty and violence are usually directed at the Tamils. A way to protect the Tamils from GOSL retribution must be found, and must be included in the UNHRC resolution.”
Tamils for Obama is a politically active group of Tamil Americans. They believe that over 70,000 Tamil civilians were massacred during the last weeks of the Sri Lankan ethnic war. They have also watched the behavior of the Sri Lankan Singhalese victors after the war, and strongly conclude that Tamils in Sri Lanka will only be safe when this unfortunate island is divided into two states.

This is America Damn It
Progressive liberalism is full of rhetoric nowadays revolving around how things can’t be done anymore. They are so depressing, telling us how the system is rigged against you and social mobility is impossible. They tell you it’s the Koch brothers fault and we need more social safety nets because the poor are being fleeced by the rich… like the rich are picking our pockets, right. According to progressive liberals the only answer is to destroy the rich and give away all their assets to people like me. You know what? Stop it, this is American Damn it, start acting like Americans.
This country has created more wealth, raised more people out of poverty and stopped more evil than any other country or system of government ever created, period. To be poor in America is a hardship, but in what way? You take subsidized public transportation instead of a car. Maybe you have a PS2 instead of the PS3. If you are a family of 4 you get $650/month in free food, more than I spend on groceries. You have free public education for your kids, power, flat screen TV, cable and the government even gives you cash. Even being poor in America is a blessing, I know its not pleasant and there are hardships, but my word it could be so much worse. Just look at those in poverty in Mexico, Peru, Africa, etc. they struggle to get food and water everyday so stop complaining your SNAP benefit was cut $10/month.
U came from nothing, no college degree, no family connections, no silver spoon in my mouth, a divorced mother, but I made it. I started out cold calling at a stock brokerage firm making $150/week in 1993. By 2003 I was within the top 5% of all income earners in America. I have since lost it due to cancer and disability so I know both sides of the coin. I know how it sucks to be poor now and it breaks my heart I can’t give my kids all they want, but there is food in the fridge, a roof over their head, and clothes on their back. It sucks, but I know how bad it could be and how blessed, that’s right, blessed we are to be poor in America.
You know what? I may be down and out now, but I will be back. I am a survivor and I know it can be done, but if I listen to progressives only I may have committed suicide by now. My Lord, listen to them, the poor are suffering so bad, blah, blah, blah, wrong. The homeless, kids being abused and wives being beaten are suffering the poor are just upset that we can’t go to Disneyland, $100/ticket a day, you believe that? Seriously, the progressive liberals have everyone believing that we need Daddy Uncle Sam to hook us up or we are going to die or whatever. Bull.
Look, I agree that CEO’s and the super rich make too much money, but is that our problem or is it the shareholders problem? Maybe if you all realized that a 25% flat tax on all income is far superior than a graduated progressive tax where 39% is only on the earnings above $300,000, but whatever, you won’t believe me anyhow because you are so stuck on the rate. I urge you to Google it, I mean, did you even know we have a graduated progressive tax to begin with? Probably not, which is the other half of your problem, the know not what they speaketh about.
I have never in my life heard of such defeatist teachings in my life from progressives. Just because times are tough it doesn’t mean we throw away a system that works, very well I might add, for socialism or a socialism lite system which we know doesn’t work. Marxism has been around for 150 years, give or take, and over the last 100 years we have had some very large tests of Marxists beliefs, how many have lasted more than 75 years? None. Even China has switched to a more capitalist system and look how well they are doing now, although the system is still centrally controlled which will destroy itself at some point.
I just don’t get it, really, I am at a loss for words to how as Americans so many of us have just given up. It wasn’t that long ago we had disaster but we picked ourselves up, forgot about Carter and moved on. However, nowadays we look to our sugar daddy, Uncle Sam, to give us some ‘free’ stuff instead of looking for a better way. If you lost your job and have been out of work for 2 years, guess what? It is likely that type of job is gone, move on and stop asking for unemployment insurance. My Lord, an employer would rather see a McDonald’s job on your resume instead of a 2 year gap in your work history. At least that employer knows you are willing to do what it takes to make it.
This insanity has to stop, improvise, adapt and overcome that is the American way. We have to get back to that attitude because we are doomed if we continue this course. Stop pampering your kids, my wife’s father had to work from age 12 on to support his family, that wasn’t that long ago you know. If things are tough, look elsewhere because you can move job industries, I did, you can as well. Stop buying Starbucks coffee, save money again, who cares what your neighbors are buying, they are idiots probably. Whatever it takes, stop believing things are so tough the only thing that can help is more government programs. That is not the answer that is part of the problem.
Pick yourself up, have some pride in whatever you are doing, but I can assure you hard work, dedication and doing the right thing can and will payoff for you and the country. If we all just rolled up our sleeves we can change what is happening. This is America Damn it, start acting like Americans, when things get tough the tough gets going. I know all of this is true, I have done it in the past and I will do it again and if I can do it anyone can.
This is America Damn It

Rand Paul vs. Bill Clinton: Does Lewinski Matter?
Those over 30 actually remember the 1990’s and while we remember the great economy and how great things were we also remember how the politics were just as toxic, maybe not as much, as they are today. There was no great armistice between Bill Clinton and, most notably, Newt Gingrich as things got pretty heated back then. However, the young, mostly liberal, crowds either don’t remember that decade or simply don’t know about it.
While there was a willingness to work, Clinton with Newt and vice versa, it was only because Clinton moved to the center-left. Clinton tried for healthcare reform right from the start and failed, he raised taxes, the largest tax hike on seniors in history, and passed the assault weapons ban all of which led to the republican revolution and the republicans contract with America. It is also important to note that during the election when he thought the gay vote was 20% he favored gays in the military, but after he was elected he found out the gay vote was only 10% and switched to “don’t ask, don’t tell”, look it up, Google is free. In short, the Clinton’s are completely political and have one objective, the Clinton’s.
Further evidence of Clinton’s move to the center is his welfare reform efforts, pro business and investment tax policy which led to the economic and, in turn, stock market boom which refueled the economic boom… follow that? You see, Clinton listened to the republicans and dropped capital gains taxes, the tax on investment gains held over 1 year, to 20% from 28%. When you drop capital gains taxes people will invest in equities, the stack market, and the wealthy will invest in start-up companies as the gains are taxed at 20% instead of the higher earned income tax rates. That is smart tax policy and it worked, but mix in a revolution, in this case the internet, and you have a recipe for something special which is exactly what happened. However, good things get overdone and out of control leading to what we now call “bubbles” and the internet bubble popped as we know.
You cannot credit Clinton alone with the booming economy of the 1990’s and ignore the fact that republicans had congress wrapped up. It’s incredulous that anyone can credit the president with only all the good, none of the bad, but ignore the party or dismiss the party that controls congress, that is what liberals do. When congress and the president work together great things can happen, but Clinton got lucky with the internet boom and he knows politics, something Obama knows nothing about. Contrary to liberals belief there is simply no chance Obama will move to the center and he just doesn’t compromise.
Think about it, all the compromises have been republican… defund Obamacare, nope, Obama won and republicans conceded. Lift the debt ceiling, no compromise for Obama, but republicans gave in on higher taxes. I can go on and on. Just because Obama isn’t liberal enough for you liberals doesn’t mean he is not too liberal for conservatives and he is certainly not a centrist, not at all.
Anyhow, as we reminisce about the Clinton era we also forget all the scandals they were involved with and, frankly, there are a lot of questions unresolved. Like how Hillary knew to invest 3 times the Clinton’s net worth in 1979 in beef futures only to make a killing, her first and only trade. White Water and a bunch of other stuff have open questions that will never be answered because people don’t want to know. The one scandal we should be talking about, however, is the Monica Lewinsky affair.
Why? Simple, Clinton lied under oath about it which, to me and the law, is a crime. He had an affair with a young intern in the oval office, while he was working. He often had her do “her thing” while he was on the phone with senators, when Arafat was waiting for him in the Rose Garden and she was a young intern. I don’t care about the affair, we knew what Clinton was with Flowers and others who outed him during the campaign, it is the lying and the complete lapse of judgment he showed.
The lapse of judgment is just so large it cannot be ignored, but Americans do ignore it, why. My theory is that the economy was so good we don’t want to tarnish the memory with salacious details. We also view this as a sexual affair instead of what it really was, an out of control ego maniac who thought, and did, he could get away with anything. If your daughter was Lewinsky would you give the president a pass on this? Certainly Lewinsky had a role in it, but he was the president of the United States, the man with the nukes, the guy who was trying to broker world peace… shouldn’t he be held to a higher standard?
On top of it, not only was his judgment terrible with the affair, he lied about it under oath. It is hard enough to get politicians to tell the truth about anything at all, but I would like to think under oath they would feel compelled to tell the truth. Instead, we get a lesson on what the definition of ‘is’ is, seriously? Not that I am surprised, liberals play that stuff all the time like showing a picture of KKK members burning a cross and in their uniform with a caption of you ‘might’ be a racist… it says MIGHT be a racist, not you are a racist, like there is a difference… I really had this debate with a guy and I still shake my head over it.
So, Rand Paul comes along and brings up Lewinsky again, 17 years later, and people are questioning whether or not that is fair game or not. Of course it is! Look, the comment came out because Hillary Clinton is probably going to run in 2016 which puts Bill back in as First Husband, I guess. In addition, she was up to her eyes in the cover-up of Lewinsky, vast rightwing conspiracy anyone, and lied about knowledge of the affair as well, we all know she knew about it, a wife knows her husband. She also decided to stay with him because it was politically smart for her to do so, is there even love there? I don’t know, only they do, but there is no question they are a political powerhouse together.
Hillary is portrayed as a victim, which drives my wife crazy, even though she was an active participant in coving it up. She stayed even though she was more than capable of leaving him and making her own way in life. She chose to stay with him which doesn’t make her a victim at all, it was her choice to stay. I don’t get how she gets the sympathy vote because she decided to stay with her husband who cheated, repeatedly, on her. She knows about it but stays and that makes people vote for her? It’s mind blowing.
She isn’t a victim at all, she is a political animal doing what is best for her and it has worked. She made out very well, Senator of NY, 2008 presidential candidate, and becoming the secretary of state while writing books, giving speeches and making tens of millions of dollars at it. She is cunning and so is Bill and the last thing we need is another Clinton in the Whitehouse. If she actually gets elected, which she won’t, it will be a sad day for America. Enough with political dynasties they suck and damage our credibility… we actually wonder why other countries laugh at us, well, look at who we elect.
Rand Paul was right to bring up Lewinsky as it exposes the complete lapse of judgment the Clintons have shown in the past. I don’t want the salacious details repeated again instead talk about how it was embarrassing and how the president needs to be using the head on his shoulder, or her shoulders, instead of the other head to think with. Judgment and actions matter. The Clinton’s lack judgment and their actions are beyond comprehension. Bring it all back up again, I say, because that is the only record we really had and maybe, just maybe, people will realize it was the compromises between the parties that led to the booming 1990’s and not one man.

Populism is Terrible Politics: Minimum Wage Increase
Who doesn’t want something for nothing? However, there is no such thing as everything has a cost at some point and that is the problem with populist policies. When a politicians poll numbers are low and the people lose faith in said politician it is a safe bet that they will start offering populist policy ideas in order to boost their popularity. This is what Obama and the democrats are now shooting for with their $10.10 minimum wage increase.
I am against the federal minimum wage because it applies the same logic to the entire country which is never right. Wages vary state-by-state because the cost of living varies state-by-state. Housing, energy, food and other core goods in North Dakota are far less expensive than housing in DC, New York, Boston or LA which means wages are generally lower. With that, does North Dakota, which has low unemployment already, need a $10 minimum wage? I honestly don’t know, I don’t live there which is my point, but in all likelihood they don’t need $10/hour.
All labor is not equal which an unpopular idea generally speaking, but it’s true. Does a 16 year old cashier worth $10/hour? Well, based on my last shopping trip, no. How about a cashier versus the cart collector who ventures into traffic in the rain, snow, hot and cold weather, is that work equal? No, not by a long shot, I know, I did both jobs. Not to mention the largest portion of hourly workers are the young and unskilled which is why they have minimum wage jobs. As they gain experience and skills their pay will naturally increase but a starting point is always going to have the lowest wage point.
Above all, minimum wages should be determined by the states as I stated earlier, cost of living is local. As it stands now there are states that have higher minimum wage levels than what the federal government mandates already. Some states have indexed the minimum wage to inflation as well which should tell you that in the areas where wages need to move higher the states are working on it.
I am not against higher wages at all, but the way this is being proposed is illogical and being done largely to help the democrats keep the senate. Using the working poor as a political tool is wrong, but that is what politicians, largely democrats, do. If the democrats really cared about the working poor they would have raised the minimum wage in 2010 before they lost the house, but their arrogance made them think, like the GOP from 2001-2006, they would never lose control over government. They were wrong, obviously.
I see the democrats do this all the time, they crack down on welfare and ignore the poor when it is convenient, but when victory is becoming more difficult they know, basically, by bribing the most desperate in the electorate, the poor, they can win votes. Hey, republicans do it too, but generally not to the same level as democrats are only friendly to the poor when needed and the rest of the time they simply feel their pain. They also have another reason to do it, Obamacare is another which I already wrote about, but the real reason is because Obama’s miracle economic recovery is a complete farce.
How many times have we heard about the 4 million jobs that Obama, all by himself, like Superman, created all of these jobs? All the time, but we have to keep in mind people are dropping out of the workforce faster than the jobs are being created which is why unemployment has decreased. My question is whether or not you looked at the quality of the jobs ‘created’ under Obama, all by himself, look like. If you are a liberal I am confident you never get past the headline figures or do any critical thinking about the monthly employment reports. If you did the research you would know where I am going with this.
Obama is the minimum wage job creating president. Out of all the jobs Obama created the vast majority were within the food and beverage and hospitality area of the economy which are all hourly paying jobs. It isn’t his fault, wait, it is since he takes credit for all things good that happen and none of the bad. However, the people who have these jobs know the truth and by giving them a raise Obama is trying to win back their support. I don’t think it will work but it is a sound political ploy. I just wish the liberals would open their eyes to see what he is doing, but they don’t and all critical thinking stops when his name is uttered, much like the right when Bush was in office.
The other negative aspect about the minimum wage hike is that it will hurt jobs, according to the CBO. Granted, more people will be helped than hurt, which is the recent defense of the CBO estimates, but it doesn’t change the fact people will be hurt. Not only will jobs be lost, but hours will be cut mainly because not all work is equal. The rise in pay will not create aggregate demand for products, food and energy demand will increase, but even at $10/hour people still don’t make enough to buy new cars or iPods, etc. Well, that isn’t totally true I guess…
Some minimum wage earners would have spent their money on products, iPods, etc., but these are the people who will be losing their jobs! I am referring to the 16-24 year olds who are still in school and living with mom and dad. Those people will find it harder to find work as adults who need jobs have more experience and will, with higher hourly wages, be more willing to seek modest work when times are tough. The youth unemployment rate is still sky high, double digits sky high, and rival black and Latino unemployment figures because even with low minimum wages adults in hard times are taking whatever they can get for work. My point is that the young are those who waste their money in Apple products which would create aggregate demand within the economy. Adults just trying to make the mortgage are spending their money on the essentials, that’s it.
Obama’s grand idea will only make an existing problem, youth unemployment, even worse. To think, these are the people who voted for him to begin with. Again, it’s not Obama’s fault, he has never created a job or has any idea how the economy actually works… they didn’t cover that in community organizing school. In other words, this will backlash on the democrats and remember, I am OK with higher minimum wages so don’t shoot the messenger. I just wish liberals and the poor would finally open their eyes to what the democrats are all about, staying in power. They only choose to discuss your problems when they have to, like now as votes are going to be tough to get. Don’t believe me, go do some research, I am right.

Alec Baldwin, I Actually Feel for Him
Alec Baldwin is not a favorite actor of mine, I liked him in a couple of movies, hated 30 Rock (never watched more than 1 show), he has said awful things to his daughter who has, somehow, forgiven him, and he has certainly not been a friend to conservatives. With all of that, I still feel bad for the man because he can finally feel the wrath of the politically correctness, PC, police. He can now know what it is like to be called a homophobic and whatever else they say about him. Perhaps he can see how bipolar and idiotic progressives actually are.
Think about it, is Alec Baldwin who has been on TV, in movies, and on Broadway anti-gay? That is highly doubtful. If he hated gays do you think that would have been kept quiet by the hundreds or thousands of people he knows and speaks to regularly? Of course not. The guy is a hothead and a jerk, that is clear, who has been relentlessly stalked by crazy photographers looking to get a rise out of him and splash it on TMZ.
Being homophobic is defined as not liking gay people, avoiding them or calling them names. It is the name calling that supposedly confirms Baldwin’s hatred of gays. Seriously? The PC police have made it a crime to use some of my, probably yours as well, favorite fighting words and made it so that if you use them, well, there you have it… you hate gays!
He called one guy a “queen”, which I see as insulting, but not bigoted and there is a difference. A good friend of mine calls people queens all the time and he isn’t homophobic because he is gay. Baldwin also called a photographer a “cocksucker” because this guy had relentlessly followed him and his wife, according to Baldwin, causing minor injuries to his wife as she tried to escape him. In short, this guy made Baldwin’s life miserable so he had it and I can understand that. Calling the guy a “cocksucker” is fighting words meant to insult straight men because it is offensive to them, has been for millennia, and doesn’t make someone a homophobe.
All the strange behaviors we see of Baldwin are likely very rare events. Simple logic tells us we all have a preconceived image of Baldwin ranting, raving, threatening someone because that is what TMZ has fed us. Therefore, these scumbag photographers, who get paid big bucks to show him acting like an ass instead of showing him as a good father, bait him, aggravate him and wait for him to blow up and then they click away. I am more interested in finding out how long the ambush photographers have to bait and push him before he does something stupid. In TMZ’s defense, Baldwin is an ass and is easily provoked, so…
Regardless, we are killing ourselves with the PC stuff, demanding apologies from people who, supposedly, insult a group of people for whatever reason. Like a forced apology actually means anything to begin with, come on. Anyhow, I have no problem with any group of people, never really have, and when I get mad at someone I may call them a cocksucker, just like millions of other men would do. Because Baldwin is a big star, I guess, if he says it he is automatically a gay hating straight guy who needs to be tarred, feathered, have weights tied to his feet and dumped in the Hudson.
The funny thing is, this is coming from his friends and fellow progressives. That is the irony of all of this it is his people turning on him and treating him like a conservative, how does it feel Alec? Not so good as he now says he is exiting the public life, has to move away from New York City because he is hated, his friends have dumped him and he gets a tirade of evil hate tweeted at him which, according to progressives, is Baldwin’s own fault and he is reaping what he sows because progressives are just good people.
Maybe he can now see that the way progressives treat those they deem unworthy he might see how conservatives are treated. It’s not like we want him to join up with us, the liberals can keep him, but when he is finally invited back into the inner sanctum of progressivism again, which will happen, perhaps he can tell them to chill out. He now knows what it is like to be told you are a hateful person, when you are not, intolerant, which you are not, homophobic, which you are not, and no matter what you say the progressives just say no, you are, even in the face of unquestionable evidence to the contrary.
Hell, Baldwin could start dating Richard Simmons and have bath house public encounters with him and the progressives will still not believe him. It is sad but true and the really odd thing is that Baldwin will be forgiven at some point, conservatives are never that lucky, and he will be back, bigger than ever. It is ridiculous. So, give him a break, stop tweeting awful things to him, he lost his Capital One gig which cost him millions, his TV show which cost him something and his friends stop kicking him while he’s down. Besides, you’ll love him again in 18 months. Finally, he isn’t homophobic and you all need to learn the difference between real hate crime and fighting words.
Alec Baldwin, I Actually Feel for Him
My Friends, Benghazi is The Biggest…
Embarrassment in recent US diplomacy history, but the event itself is not a scandal. The right has gone bonkers over the Benghazi fiasco over the last year with TV ads of Hillary Clinton; “What does it, at this point, matter!”, media pundits picking it a part, and countless congressional hearings. I get it, this is embarrassing to the president and I think we should take full advantage of it, but not in the way it is being done.
We know the British pulled out because of terrorist, or whatever the official term is, activity and attacks. We know it was ridiculous for security to be so light, mainly because of the recent terrorist activity, and the security should have been US marines instead of contractors. Libya, after all, was still a war zone with a weak to no real central government, security forces or police. Ambassador Stevens should have been more prudent in his decisions, but this is all hindsight and does us no good.
The idea that a stand down order was given would be great political fodder, but there is zero evidence of such an order. The idea that a military dispatch from Italy could have saved the day is a fantasy, it would have been physically and mathematically impossible to muster the proper strength of soldiers and to get them there in time. Those who were there fought bravely and perished with great honor in fulfilling their duty, which is a nice platitude, but does the families no good. We should be angry that there was such a breakdown in security and intelligence, but until there is a smoking gun that it could have been prevented or troops were in route and recalled the GOP scandal isn’t valid.
This is not to say that there isn’t a ‘scandal’ to be had here, there is, of sorts. In the interview Obama gave to Bill O’Reilly he made a statement about that night. The president stated that he was concerned whether or not everyone was safe in Benghazi, what the status of events were and whether or not this was part of a larger coordinated terrorist attack. Let us not forget, this was on the 9/11 anniversary and there was major activity at the Egyptian embassy as well. I believe, for what that is worth, the North African activity alone warranted heightened situational awareness by our government throughout the day.
Even though we now know that they knew it was a terror attack, through all the congressional hearings, right from the start and the president admitted it to O’Reilly it raises an important question. Why did the president continue on to Las Vegas, when this was all happening, for a fundraiser? An ambassador was killed, he admits they knew it was terrorists from the beginning, but he still left for a fundraiser knowing the Egyptian embassy was also under siege. Keep in mind that just a few months before the whole area was on fire, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Tunisia and more so it was not like the area was a safe zone at all.
However, Obama felt the need to go to the fundraiser and no one, not even the great Bill O’Reilly pushed him on this. In hindsight it is for this reason, I think, that they pushed the movie angle and downplayed the terror angle. Of course, the GOP smelling blood in the water decided to fish for a big scandal when the scandal was right in front of them all along. Sure, it is not as juicy as a stand down order, but my Lord, he now admits they knew it was terrorist activity and he left for Vegas, classy. Also, remember they now claim he said that it was terrorists the very next day in the Rose Garden, he didn’t, but that’s a different story, and still no one pressed on why he left for Vegas.
While not an impeachable offense, the GOP needs to stop that talk too, but don’t you think positioning it that way, commander in chief ditches dead ambassador for Vegas fundraiser, who have done some damage on election day? I doubt it would have swung the election, but it could have tightened it up a bit. Not every scandal needs to be a home run or he’s a crook scandal, but showing major lapses in judgment or poor decision making skills can make a bigger impact than many think.
Romney wasn’t going to win, let’s be clear about that, but it would be nice to finally see some critical thinking about Obama. The fact of the matter is the media has never given Obama a hard time over anything. Keep in mind Obama’s DOJ are the same guys who indicted Jay Rosen, tapped his, his parents and his office phone lines. They went after the AP over the leaks and just scrapped a plan to look for ‘bias’ in media newsrooms and what has the press gone after Obama about? Their photographers have had very little access to him… that’s it, can you believe that? Obama is indicting reporters, subpoenaing phone records and they complain because their photographers aren’t getting enough access. You can’t make this stuff up… BENGHAZI!

You Might be a Racist If…
I was reading my new favorite site tonight and came across this picture, see below, that claims if you suddenly became interested in politics in 2008 you are probably a racist. What kills me is that they, progressive liberals, put this crap out there and then expect you to extend them some respect or common courtesy. What they fail to realize is that with Obama’s job performance ratings hovering at 40% that means there are plenty of whites who voted for him that do not like what he is doing. Are they racists? No, they just aren’t seeing his massive promises, remember he promised everything under the sun to everyone, come to fruition. However, these, I would guess independent voters, are in our position now… being called racists.
I have, generally, always voted conservative mostly because I never liked the democratic candidates. Look what I had to choose between, Clinton, Gore, Kerry and Obama or, a pervert, a bore who invented the internet (I know he didn’t say it, but it’s funny), a pompous bore and the amateur. I have voted democrat before in congressional races and local politics, but you know those people better. I am not a new comer to the conservative movement and, in my opinion, most Tea Party people or now politically active people aren’t new conservatives either.
What happened in 2008 was a rare event, a financial crisis beyond the scope of what anyone thought was possible and the excitement of a new guy who really seemed to be a change candidate. Now, most people realized Obama was saying whatever he had to say or promise to get elected but some in the middle really believed him. I admit I hoped he was the real deal, but the pragmatist in me knew better. These rare events meant a big win for the amateur who was, in my view, clearly overwhelmed by the job since he has never had a hard job in his life. How else can a 50 year old look so good? All these people in the middle got caught up and went with him, believing in him. After the first year there was the backlash of conservatives who leveraged the midterm elections and threw the democratic house majority out on their rears after they hammered healthcare through.
It wasn’t the blackness of Obama’s skin that caused the Tea Party to rise; it was that he passed the most sweeping healthcare overhaul ever, changing everything, during the blackness of the night. There was no real debate and all that hope, change and transparency stuff went right out the window. It went downhill from there for Obama as the people who elected the GOP wanted his agenda stopped. The funny thing is that I have no doubt Boehner would have worked with Obama, but it was Obama’s inability to work well with others, Obama’s idea of compromise is that everyone agrees he is right, but how did he start out… “John, the election is over and I won…”
As his first term ended it was clear he was full of poop to most people which is why Romney thought he had the 2012 election won. However, Americans are funny and many just don’t understand how we work, including us. Romney should have won, Obama had lost a step, his record wasn’t good, the economy was rocky at best and the president looked tired. What happened is what happens a lot in America, the incumbent won. Bush won in 2004 and he was hated, but Americans decided to dance with the devil they knew and that is what I believe happened in 2012.
Now, with Obama at 40% approval, which is basically the democratic base, odds are he will lose in the midterms again. This time he may lose the senate, but don’t count your chickens because incumbents win more than they lose, especially in America when an incumbent wins 90% of the time, scary, right? The left is once again leaning hard on the race card, which must have been the topic at the last liberal news media meeting that was just held at the Whitehouse. For some reason the liberals seem to think the more they call their detractors racists the better the odds of them winning in the next election. I disagree though and believe this behavior will backfire in a huge way.
They are not simply calling the guy dressed up as Ben Franklin at a Tea Party rally a racist now. They are now calling your uncle Wally at thanksgiving a racist because he is sick of being out of work, seeing his utility bill go up and he had to sell all of his stocks to pay his mortgage. Uncle Wally is a fair minded guy who simply wants what is best for his family and had now decided Obama’s policies haven’t helped him. Especially since he has to buy that health insurance he can’t afford. To call uncle Wally a racist is akin to saying apple pie isn’t American because Uncle Wally is married to an African-American!
You can’t call middle America out as racists when they are the same ones how voted for you, twice, and not expect to have long-term ramifications. Why in the world would Uncle Wally ever vote for another minority candidate again? If you agree with him you are part of the solution, but once their policies don’t work out for you and you disagree with them you are all of a sudden a racist. They doesn’t fly anywhere in America, sorry. What happens when a woman runs for office? If I disagree with her am I a misogynist?
I realize it may be fun to have your opponent on the ropes because once you are called a racist you can’t attack, you are too busy defending, but it is doing damage. I say let them call us racists, we know it’s not true, and the more we stop fighting it the harder they will go after us. It will get so out of hand the media will crack down, I mean, look at it already, burning cross with the KKK, it’s hard to get any worse. The repercussions will last a while, I think, because people remember being called horrible names and as they get older they remind their kids and grandchildren how awful it was to be called a racist merely because you disagreed with the man’s policies.
Let them do their worst, like I said, it’s almost there and even know I more or less let it go when they throw out the inevitable insults. It’s sad really, you and I know the exact terms they will use it’s like they have an operating manual or something, so beat them to the punch, let the awful comments roll off your back. Let them know, if you keep this up you will lose the independent votes next time around. I remember the same arrogance from the hardcore 40% Bush supporters, where are they now(?), and this is following the same path. It crushed the GOP and I am sure it will crush the progressives for at least 2 terms.
We just need our own amateur to shake things up, better yet a Condi Rice would be great, a black woman, how could a progressive not vote for her regardless of her politics! The funny thing is, they think conservatives would never vote for someone who is black let alone a black woman which is ridiculous and we know simply isn’t true. Let them think they know us, things are looking better than you think.
You Might be a Racist If…
Liberal's Love Calling Conservatives Nazi's, Are They Right? Nope
Using Hitler and Nazi references to describe opposing political parties is dumb and needs to stop. This is especially true for the idiots who don’t understand the exact politics of the Nazi party. I am a student of world war II and over the past few years started to examine the politics of the war which, of course, includes trying to understand what the Nazi’s stood for, believed in and the differences between Nazism, communism and our republic systems. Below you will see a picture of Hitler and what a liberal believes Nazism stood for, he is beyond incorrect.
Look, the only thing Nazism had in common with conservatism, but also American liberalism, is the nationalistic aspect. Meaning extreme nationalism or even supremacy of a particular country, for example, we hold America as the exception to the world, supreme in every way or most ways, the Germans believed that about Germany. Liberals like to paint conservatives as hyper patriotic, but the reality is that both parties believe that.
Who would vote for a democrat that says America is terrible, a bully, evil, or whatever, incidentally, I believe that is what they really think about America, apology tour anyone. No one except the real left loonies would vote for a democrat who said those things which is why BOTH parties believe, in lip service anyhow, in American exceptionalism and openly talk about it.
Conservatives happen to be a bit more patriotic acting than liberals, but that is the end of where Nazism and conservatism are similar. Contrary to popular belief most conservatives are not militarists or war mongers looking to invade Canada or Iceland because, well, we can, which is what liberals want people to believe. Instead, in reality, we believe in a strong military in order to prevent us from having to go to war. The philosophy is peace through strength, simple, concise and it has largely worked. I do, as well as many other conservatives, believe that we have gone too far in our spending on the military and many, especially me, certainly didn’t believe in the Iraq war.
Read what this idiot wrote in the picture, I will assume all you know about Nazism is the Nuremberg laws, they hated Jews, were a militaristic society that carried out illegal wars of aggression. Well, a lot of that is true and some not so much, but the author of this meme knows absolutely nothing about Nazi politics. For starters, Nazi is slang for Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated as NSDAP, in America the official name is loosely translated to National Socialism. What sticks out about the English name? Socialism, maybe?
In Europe the Nazi’s were indeed right wing socialists meaning they were socialists who placed Germany first, but socialists nonetheless. Here are some of the things Hitler did for the people:
Hitler instituted wage rates for the worker,
He subsidized cars (Volkswagen “peoples car” a name Hitler himself chose, think about that liberal hipster driving your eco friendly Volkswagen),
Subsidized radios,
Subsidized luxurious vacations,
Massive public works projects, autobahn for example
Among many other things.
Does that sound like an American right wing, small government, extremist? I thought not, yet the myth is perpetuated that conservatives have more in common with Hitler than liberals when, in fact, it is liberals who are closer to Nazi’s. I can hear you thinking now, but this can’t be true, Hitler hated communism, he abolished trade unions, confiscated private property and enriched many companies during his reign. Yes, you are correct, but let me explain these things to you and it will all fit together.
Hitler hated trade unions, but with wage and price controls in place what need was there for unions? A simplified answer, but do you want me to get that deep into it? Communists were his enemies and socialism is merely communism light, true, but what Hitler hated was that communism did not believe in private property ownership, which Hitler did favor. Also, the Marxist’s, communists were his opponents to power in the 1920’s and Hitler hated competition. Don’t worry, Stalin thought that Nazi’s and communists were a good fit as well, which is one reason why he signed the nonaggression pact.
Did Hitler confiscate private property and nationalize companies? Yes, but the property he took was largely from his political opponents and the Jews. The way business worked in Nazi German was complex, but, basically, if your company benefited the Reich, i.e. you made guns, war equipment, clothing, food, etc. you were considered an asset and were not messed with. However, if you produced things that were not core products that benefited the Reich you lost out and the government took over, this is where the socialism got kicked up a notch and how he could afford to do a lot of the things he did. Those businesses that were core and beneficial to the Reich prospered and made the owners very, very wealthy.
Onward to Religion…
Yes, Nazi’s disliked Jews, surprise, right? However, the head Nazi’s were occultists and not really Christians like the idiot liberal says. Hitler used the idea that the Jews killed Jesus Christ merely as propaganda to make ordinary citizens resent the Jews more. In fact, Hitler hated organized religion, he wanted to be the people’s savior, and Jesus was competition! He never pushed for or argued against Christianity because he didn’t believe in it and the German people were very religious and he would have never gained power by oppressing Christianity, like the liberal idiot suggests. As an aside, Pope Pius XII was NOT Hitler’s pope, period. Yes, some members helped Nazi’s flee Europe after the war, but Pius XII was not one of them and actually did all in his power to save as many Jews as possible. Stalin framed Pius XII after the war for his own political proposes, but Pius never supported fascism, ever.
To say Hitler persecuted people who were unorthodox and immoral is stupid, period. Yes, he thought he was a moral person and disliked meat, alcohol and other classic immoral things he didn’t persecute others for those things. He was strict on alcohol, he didn’t like his officers drinking to excess, especially the SS, but alcohol was a ration issued to German soldiers during WWII. Since Hitler was not an orthodox Christian there was no need to persecute others…
The liberal moron author also states that Hitler came to power playing on the fears of a war torn, economically depressed country… huh? First off, WWI indeed 14 years before Hitler came to power and Germany was not still war torn as it was never even invaded during the first great war. When Hitler tried to take power in the 1920’s that was, kind of, sort of, true as the economy was in freefall, but by 1932 WWI had little bearing on the economy of Germany as the global depression was the current problem, led by the US market crash of 1929.
So, yeah, the economic factor is somewhat accurate, I guess, but the entire world was in a similar situation and in 1932 Paul von Hindenburg was elected, not Hitler. However, Hitler was popular and his strong showing as well as his parties having control over the Reichstag Hindenburg appointed Hitler. After Hindenburg died was how Hitler really came to power… he was never democratically elected.
Hitler didn’t like homosexuals; no one did in that time period, not even liberal progressive morons. In fact, the leading progressives of the day back then hated gays, minorities, women and freedom in general, leaning communist in fact. As for immigration, yeah, Hitler said no to other non-whites immigrating to Germany, as well as other undesirables, but guess what? The US was limiting immigration at that time, except from European countries. These was under FDR as well and get this, when Jews from Germany started showing up at Ellis Island, under FDR’s watch, fearing for their lives we said no and sent them back to Germany to later be killed. We knew what was up, but your progressive hero FDR sent the Jews to their deaths!
Liberals, they use facts sparingly because they never support their case! Seriously, they literally make things up and they are counting on the readers to be other idiotic liberals who never research anything and then have them run around passing off their made up crap as facts. When lies are repeated enough they become facts, sadly, and with Americans getting dumber by the day they never try to learn the truth. Just look at the myths about president Hoover, the depression was his entire fault, he never did anything to help people… really? The HOOVER Dam anyone? He invented the soup line, created the first bailout bank which later became the FDIC under FDR… in fact, FDR’s New Deal was an expansion on Hoover’s public works projects! Another post on that later…
Go, spread the word, the conservative movement is not even close to Nazism. Tell the truth, it is progressive liberal policies that are the problem and that have the most in common with Nazism. If you don’t believe what I wrote, remember I was summarizing a lot, do your own research, as you always should, and you will see… I love the truth and I love the facts.

Obamacare, a True Look at the Program
Obamacare rocks, if you have absolutely no idea how insurance actually works, what it does or what it is supposed to do. If you know even a little about insurance you know it is awful. People either love or hate Obamacare but the reality is most have zero idea what they are talking about. My wife is a user of the NY state exchange, I am the former director of insurance markets, I consulted, wrote studies, etc. I am also a sickly person who has used his insurance on a massive level. All of this gives me tremendous advantage that all of the talking heads simply don’t have and, likely, never will. I have reached out to them, sent emails, etc., but who am I… too smart for them I guess? Who knows.
The Idea
In a utopian society everyone lives in bliss with no sadness or evil. There are sugar plums and apples as far as the eye can see and no one goes without. Unfortunately, utopia doesn’t exist, never will.
I suspect this is the world Obama and the democrats are trying to create, but they just have no idea what they are doing. Their first stab at creating this make believe world was Obamacare, can we agree they deserve to be fired over this yet? They did everything they thought they should, spoke to liberals and academic professionals who know everything there is to know, from their ivory towers.
My suggestion for the first try at getting the uninsured insured would have been to simply do premium support in conjunction with expansion of Medicare and Medicaid. Forget the mandates like free birth control, my God it is $20 a month, so what, an concentrate simply on coverage. They didn’t do that, obviously, they recreated the marketplace which was dumb as the marketplace took a century to build! All they needed to do was open Medicare or Medicaid up to those who are uninsured, use a sliding scale to calculate premiums, i.e. free for the poor and the more you make the more you pay, no mandates and simple. Of course the preexisting and cap limits are fine, kind of as eventually that will cause premiums to spike, hard.
With my system you conquer 2 goals, it makes all the left wing whack jobs happy because it looks like a “public option” and there is no mandate to buy insurance, or pay a tax, fine or whatever it is now. The third true benefit is you are not destroying and rebuilding something that works… we know insurance works, contrary to what politicians say because if insurance doesn’t work why expand it with Obamacare. However, we have what we have and over time you will hate it, trust me. The idea was good and noble, the direction was straight down the tubes.
What we Have
What we have is a mess an absolute mess and the longer we have it the more obvious it will be. If you are uninsured and in the exchange you can now buy “affordable” health insurance in 3 different varieties, bronze, silver, gold or platinum. In each category the policies all basically do the same thing, deductibles are standardized and the benefits are standardized, but you have a choice of HMO, PPO, POS(point of service not the other thing) which allows you the perception of more choices. Sadly, all Obamacare policies are basically HMOs because they needed more control to make it “cheap”. So think of the different versions of policies in terms of how big the network is, co-pay costs, do you need referrals, maximum out of pocket costs instead of real choices in policy types.
What everyone doesn’t understand is that these policies all have zero out of network coverage, do you understand that? If your insurer isn’t in Florida where you are vacationing and you get hurt or sick, you pay. Therefore the claim this will reduce bankruptcies is partially true, but mostly not. What the co-pays for surgeries because these policies allow for separate co-pays to every doctor in the surgery, the hospital and after care, these can add up to thousands of dollars, I know from experience and we have a platinum Obamacare policy.
Pre-authorizations are a big part of these plans as well. Do you have injections for back pain? Pre-authorization and only a set number of injections are approved at a time. Do you get 240 pills in your prescriptions? Well, their formulary is different and they only approve up-to 180 without preapproval. This is how they reduce the costs of these policies and, after a while, you will get similar care it expands the work you doctor has to do and headaches for you is they forget to reauthorize something. We just went through this with my wife’s new platinum policy and we have had it for 2 months, oh joy!
Premiums
The insurers used Obama’s enrollment figures to calculate this year’s premiums and if those projections are wrong they will readjust the premiums, drastically, next year, after the mid-term elections I might add. Think about this, every major thing with Obamacare is implemented, or postpones, until AFTER the next election, always after, never before, why? Because everything they told you wasn’t true, it’s that simple.
Think about this, we were told 35-48 MILLION people were uninsured and Obamacare fixes this, OK, fine. However, another 5-8 MILLION lost their policies, we were one of them but we had Healthy New York and this wasn’t a junk policy. Anyhow, we have had 3 MILLION paying customers of which only 11% are new customers, i.e. the 30-48M uninsured people, that is awful. A note on Medicaid, Medicaid sign ups are garbage, they aren’t in the exchanges and therefore do nothing to impact the premium pricing so ignore those figures, plus they are made up.
WHERE ARE THE UNINSURED?? If we redesigned the whole system for these people that needed insurance and wanted insurance where the hell are they? We have 10% of the “official” uninsured figure buying insurance, but most of these people, we know this from Aetna and a study, are replacing policies they lost so where are the rest of them? Without this new blood, and a healthy mixture of young healthy people, the pricing scheme will collapse. Only in government can politicians pat themselves on the back for being at 10% of goal…
In all seriousness, without new blood and healthy people these exchanges have their product too cheap. Remember, there are no caps, annual or lifetime, on what they have to pay and an insurer cannot drop sick people, ever, unless they don’t pay. Basically, insurers had to increase their risk to an unlimited amount with no way to ever thin the herd of the most expensive users and they had to do this on the cheap. This is not a good thing to do, unlimited risk, can’t drop people and you can’t raise premiums without the HHS secretary approving it, it can’t work especially when you based your premiums off of lofty projections. My point is these carriers figured they would have 3-to-4 times the current number of exchange customers and that is how they determined their pricing model.
If they don’t get more people in the exchanges, especially young people, there is no way premiums don’t go up 30%, or more, next November, after the election. This isn’t partisanship here, its mathematics, basic mathematics to boot. Don’t you think I want good cheap insurance? Of course I do, but I understand adverse selection and risk management which makes me nervous.
It’s too Expensive, but the Subsidies
In Syracuse NY our exchange has 4 carriers, maybe 5 I can’t recall exactly at the moment, which is fine. The companies range from someone I never heard of before to Blue Cross. Now, the prices shocked me at first, my Healthy NY policy was $427/month with no deductible, low co-pays, just great insurance and was offered through the state so I don’t care about government offered plans, unbiased. In order to replace what we lost we had to go platinum, my wife uses the doctors a lot as well. I needed to figure out our subsidy though, which is a pain to find out what you are eligible for, but I found it.
I know we needed the platinum plan so I went there first and was stunned at the first policy. The price was so cheap, $400ish a month, but I never heard of the company before. I looked at their website and was, again, shocked. This is a co-op from NYC that offers policies in NYC, Albany, Syracuse, and some of Western NY with wide gaps in the coverage within the state. That doesn’t sit right with me, too good to be true usually means it’s too good to be true. I called our doctors and asked them if they take the carrier, they didn’t. I called our specialists to see if they take this carrier, they didn’t. Great, a cheap plan that no one takes so I had to move up the price ladder, but tell me my subsidy…
We had to move up to the $500+ a month policy, but Obama said he will help me pay for this, after all, I am disabled with limited income, their poster child, right? Wrong. Our subsidy was $28 a month, I don’t command the income I used to make since I am on disability. Granted, my SSDI is capped out to the most you can get, but it doesn’t cover the extra $100 a month I needed to pay for the Obamacare policy which is 20% more expensive than what we had before, even with the $28 a month subsidy.
How they determine the subsidy is simple, kind of, they look at the second cheapest silver health policy and base it off of that. Well, our name brand silver policies all cost between $300-400/month, but the no name policy no one takes was $200/month. The policy no one will use in my area and shouldn’t even be in our exchange is creating substandard subsidies for our area which is wrong. I am wondering if this is being done in other areas, but have no way to find out. So, the insurers cut costs by their little tricks and Obama is cutting costs by policy stuffing cheap policies in order to reduce the subsidy amount. Nice, huh?
Like I said, the longer we have this program the more we will hate it. Hell, look at the 30-48M uninsured running to sign up for Obamacare! It’s a failure and is going to hurt us, all of us, moving forward. No one in their right mind should re-elect a democrat who created this thing, seriously. It has caused havoc in the individual market, most of the plans cancelled was not junk policies, look at ours, and redesigned the marketplace into something unworkable. I have reservations as to how the carriers will make it under this new system.
This raises the question, was this the democrats plan all along? Destroy insurers and move towards single payer? I used to think that was conspiracy theory stuff, but now, I don’t know. The evidence is compelling they knew this plan was flawed. You can’t have that many eggheads in a room and not figure out these huge flaws, sorry, it’s not possible. Sure, the ivory tower guys screwed up on the practicality of the plans, no surprise there, they have union insurance, but if they spoke to me, for example, or someone similar we would have told them about the inefficiencies and problems this would create. When will politicians learn, us little people know stuff and probably a lot better than the politician. Good luck, enjoy the premium hikes!

Government Controlled Press, In America?
The 1st amendment is sacred to Americans and the rights assured to us ere so important to the founders they put them right in the #1 slot. The right to speak ones mind, especially to me, is so fundamental to me I couldn’t live without it. In addition, the 1st amendment guarantees the right of free association and, which was very important to the founders, the freedom of the press. In fact, the founders knew Americans wanted to live their lives and not have to worry about what the government is doing, plus most Americans were uneducated back then. Therefore, they expected the press to be the fourth estate, the watchers of government just as it was during the revolution. The founders knew a press free of government interference could expose corruption without fear of going to prison or being executed. A free press should ensure a corruption free government.
The founders never dreamed the press would squander this sacred right the way they have, like I care about Miley Cyrus ‘twerking’ or what George Clooney is up to. Even with all the trash press we have, which is 80% of it, there are some good people out there trying to keep the government in check. The Snowden case is a great example, to me he and the author is a hero, sorry, I believe in the 4th amendment too and am simply not afraid of terrorists. Woodward and Bernstein is another great example of the press doing something good, but I always wondered how far they would have gone if LBJ or JFK were in office instead of Nixon.
There simply are not a lot of current cases of the media doing their job of being the fourth estate. Fox talks about 3 scandals and Obamacare all the time and MSNBC is stuck in New Jersey with no hope of covering anything else anytime soon. I cannot even watch CNN or the networks anymore as they are a mere shell of the news empires they used to be.
Regardless of what we think of the press it is still a free press or maybe not anymore…
Obama who has been treated extremely well by the press with the exception of Fox News has been turning into a tyrant as of late. First we heard he indicted Jay Rosen of Fox News, tapped his phones and his parents phones. If that wasn’t bad enough Obama also went after the Associated Press, through Eric Holder and the DOJ, they subpoenaed their phone records trying to track down the ‘leaks’ in his administration. This behavior is insane and unprecedented in American history, with a couple eras with extenuation circumstances.
But wait, there is now more! Obama or someone from the FCC wants to sit in every news outlet in America in order to make sure Americans are getting the news coverage the FCC feels is important. The FCC has identified 8 categories that they deem critical for news organizations to cover. This is, as of now, just a suggestion which is open to public debate, but if this is enacted this country is over. Seriously.
In Soviet Russia there was no more hated a person than the commissars, political agents who enforced the communist doctrine. These are the guys who shot Soviet troops if the retreated from the Germans during WWII, it is unknown how many they killed. These guys also went around and confiscated food in Stalingrad and Leningrad during the sieges and if you resisted they killed you They also decided who eats and who didn’t, if you could work you ate, if you were politically connected, you ate. They were also in charge of propaganda, the Germans too the city, not according to the commissars, the Soviets never lost a battle…
That is how I see these FCC people sitting in news rooms, they decide who can retreat safely, who eats and what is news. Granted, we don’t know exactly what the plan is, but this isn’t good, at all. The FCC wants to be in every news organizations news room including newspapers or print media, which isn’t even the FCC’s jurisdiction.
Worse yet, only Fox is reporting on this now. MSNBC is on day 58 of the traffic jam ‘scandal’ with no real new information to report. If you just watch MSNBC you are the most uninformed person in the room.Sure, you know about lane closures on the GWB, but you are then told the IRS, Fast and Furious, Obama going to Las Vegas during a terrorist attack on a ambassador was taking place are all fake scandals without 1 piece of evidence, which isn’t true at all. In fact, it is MSNBC who has zero evidence, they are actually clearing him, Christie knew anything, ordered anything or even talked with most of the people involved during the traffic jam.
It’s unreal what is going on, the media being bullied in strange ways, the president, ever since Bush, has accumulated more and more power, is picking and choosing what laws to enforce or even change without congresses approval and now they are thinking about having commissars in news rooms… are you worried yet? I am not saying Obama is the devil as this trend started well before he was even a senator, but he is certainly moving quickly, quietly, to expand these powers and influence over the press.
Even George Bush didn’t move against the press when the NY times printed national security articles based on leaks. He didn’t do anything to the paper except, maybe, ignore them. However, Obama is going nuts on the press over inconsequential media leaks and has gone well beyond the scope of those leaks with the media.
Be worried, very worried. While our press has turned into a joke already if government controls news stories or the news flow you haven’t seen anything yet. Look for the stories, watch what happens as this is our freedom we are talking about now.

Represent US, The Best 3 Minute Video on Government Corruption
I love America, everything about it including the crazies on both the left and the right, well, I like arguing I guess. Regardless, I am easily moved by themes revolving around “We the people” honestly I am surprised that some people aren’t moved by basic patriotic themes. Maybe they don’t realize how lucky we have it, rich or poor we got it good, or they don’t realize how close the dream of America was almost snuffed out during the revolution and again during the civil war.
Perhaps I am more sensitive to the patriotic events because someone from my family has fought in both the revolution and the civil war. Half of my gene pool has been here since the start and the other half immigrated here in 1912 which makes me, simply, an American. My Italian grandparents came from Old Salle near the Adriatic Sea and, quit literally, the last village at the top of a mountain. My family visited our humble origins in 2000, but Old Salle was no longer, the town was moved 50 meters down the mountain to New Salle. We were literally Italian hillbillies I guess which I am proud of. My last name literally means “of the mountain” when properly spelled in Italian.
I am telling you this so you can understand me a little better, half of my family gave blood, sweat, tears and body parts to create and keep this great country together. The other half of my family taught me anything, in America, is possible even if you have no money and can’t speak the language as long as you work hard, never give up and have pride in what you do anything is possible.
However, the American system has changed, as I have written about, and nowadays everyone looks for shortcuts or “free” stuff. I feel like we lost the spirit of what made us great, the idea of sacrifice, doing things for others, having absolute pride in ones country even when you know the government is wrong, and civil service elected office, is sacred and was not meant to be a career.
Over the last 50 years there is simply no question that the majority of wealth that was created was a direct result of the expansion of government. Whether we are talking about defense contracts, web designers to build healthcare web sites, getting a sweet tax loophole, stimulus loans, or some public land lease deal a private person or company is profiting off of the taxpayer. These deals are largely provided by congressmen, senators, presidents, and even government employees who have well-to-do friends. Our elected officials don’t get outright bribes, per se, they get campaign contributions better yet PAC contributions which the candidate can just keep after they “retire” from office.
In short, government is now bought and paid for by those who can afford to pay. I am not talking about the Koch brothers running anti-Obama ads I am talking about direct contributions to the candidates for their PAC’s or reelection funds. All this pay-to-play is why we have 22,000 pages in the tax code, which you are supposed to know, according to the IRS and, of course, the bi-decade scandal involving corruption so blatant it can’t be covered up.
When our government is influenced solely by lobbyists and influence peddlers we do not have a true democratic republic. Why? Because you are not being represented and each person we vote for is supposed to represent us, but the reality is these politicians pay us lip service and give all the good things to their donors. Look at the ACA, Obamacare, did you know there was a trade agreement with the Congo, or similar country, in it? Look it up, it’s true! This is why bills are all 1,000 pages long now, Billy Bob from the great state of Whatever has added an amendment Odds are these amendments are giveaways to the highest bidder, campaign donor or “friend”. The odds are also pretty good the donor/friend will make money from said amendment That is how DC works, whether you are republican or democrat it is the same, actually, they are all friends behind closed doors, but not in public because they are clearly collaborating or colluding with each other.
The proof is how all elected officials net worth’s tend to increase drastically over time,no one is that lucky. After the “retire” from public service, they get great pensions on top of it all, they often end up at a lobbying firm or working for a big donor. How can that be that common in DC and not be against the rules? Well, we are dumb enough to let congress write their own rules that govern them.
Hell, it took 30 years to get the STOCK Act passed, this act prevents elected officials from making profits from the legislation they pass, i.e. A123 applied for a stimulus loan the congressman knows about the application before its publicly disclosed so s/he buys shares knowing they will get it and upon approval the shares jump. Outside of Washington if you did that you would have to disgorge all your profits, pay a fine and if you are Martha Stewart you go to jail. Well, it took years of effort and not until 2012 that this practice was made illegal for congress.
Hedge fund managers used to pay contacts in Capital Hill to learn about these deals so they could front run the idea. I am not kidding and there was a tracking fund set up that outperformed the S&P 500 by 10 points, a year! You simply can’t make this stuff up. I say this to people all the time, there is no need to talk about death panels or other crazy stuff because the truth is worse and even more unbelievable.
The point of this is that I got an email from Represent.US which has a 3 minute video summarizing these points and demanding congress pass the American Anti-Corruption Act. They are not asking fir money, but they will accept it, and I have no idea of their ideology and, frankly, I don’t care because this is an American issue, get money out of politics. They wrote the bill and are taking signatures to force congress to pass it which means the fox won’t be writing the rules to safeguard the hen house.
I urge you to watch the video, sign the petition and get involved as this is your country. We have sacrificed so much over the last 230+ years only to be at a point where wealth is created because of government largesse and not true market forces. We have $17.2 TRILLION in debt which will only get larger and at some point interest rates will go up, figure out how much interest we will have to pay @ 5% interest on $17.2T, its not good news. Regardless, government is getting so big we will likely never get it back to where it should be and this larger government is keen on more social spending because things are not as good as before the 2008 crisis, and will likely be this way for along time.
Like I said, people are not willing to do the hard jobs in order to get buy. Everyone wants to be an investment banker or other high paying service oriented jobs, but what economy can survive solely by providing services and not creating anything tangible? On top of this we have politicians and public servants working hard to help out their friends to make them richer and stick us, the taxpayer, with the bill.
Government was never supposed to be like this and career politicians was an inconceivable idea to the founders. The amount of public money going to private hands would be a revolutionary spark to the founders, the revolted over a 2% tax! While it is unlikely we can change what is happening in government, but we have to try. Just sign the petition, that’s all you have to do in order to help. We are all uniquely American in some way, whether your family has been here for 400 years or they immigrated here yesterday, they came for a better opportunity and the American way. Well, the American dream is being sold off to the highest bidder…
